I worked on this with a team of five. During brainstorming, one of the members told us that when he throws a party, they sometimes tape something pointy onto their robot vacuums, put toys on top, and let them fight — last robot with its toy still standing wins.
We thought it was a great premise for a party game.
The game
A "competitive" party game for up to 6 players, with two game modes designed to start arguments between friends. You can customize your robot with different pointy weapons and cute skins.
My role
This was my first 3D game, so the big lesson was learning to build modular assets properly in 3Ds Max. I tried several styles and landed on cartoon, which fit the premise best. All textures were made in Substance Painter and assembled into a Unity scene.
I also made:
- The cleaning robots and part of their accessories
- All the menu transitions
- The opening animation that introduces the player to the game
Good luck running away from these violent little robots.
